Welcoming our Makuhari Visitors

Every year, Berkley is excited to have an exchange with Makuhari Junior High School in Japan. In Room 21 we are delighted to have Eiki join us.

Yesterday, Berkley had a full school pōwhiri to welcome our visitors. A pōwhiri is a Māori welcome, you can read more about it here. It is an important park of the Berkley culture as we welcome visitors into our Berkley family.

Here is a peek into our welcome for the Makuhari students:

  1. Hi Mrs Hogg I really enjoyed Poowhiri. I thought the Makuhari student were brilliant at singing they blew my mind.
